Cove Pays Tribute to Two Well Known Politicians

On Thursday May 12, 2011 at 7:00 pm, the Board of Directors of the Cove Guest Home will host a Dinner and Roast at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.  This special event is to show their appreciation for two pivotal figures that helped shape the Cove Guest Home into its present form.  The Honourable Rollie Thornhill and The Honourable Manning MacDonald will both headline an evening of appreciation through a light-hearted roast by close friends.

Also included in the evening will be our special guest speaker, Ms. Annette Verschuren and emcee Ms. Laurel Munroe.  A limited number of tickets are for sale now at $75.00 including the dinner.  For more information contact Darren MacNeil at 270-3433 or David MacDonald at 539-1398 or print off a “Request a Ticket” form on our website at www.coveguesthome.com.  This is an inaugural fundraising event for the Cove Guest Home Foundation.

Cove Family Garden

This year the Cove Guest Home established a Family Garden for the Residents, their families and staff to enjoy.  The benefits of gardening programs have been documented to increase happiness, contentment, and overall well being for our residents.

If you can assist this project by making a personal or business donation, it would be greatly appreciated.  Also, we invite our new residents to take a special piece of their own gardens from home with them to their "New Home", and we will plant it for them so they may continue to enjoy it.

Festival of Lights 2011

Our 15th Anniversary was another successful year, raising over $13,000. Thank you, for your donation to the Festival of Lights 2011. The Memorial Book will be on display in the Cove lobby for the entire year. Take a glance through it next time your visiting. A special thanks to the Cove Ladies Auxiliary and the Sydney River Elementary School choir.

Again, thank you for your continued support to this worthwhile project.
Sincerely,

Prayer
Commemoration of the Faithfully Departed
Eternal God, we trust in you not for this world alone but for the world to come. We remember our own loved ones who have passed through death to a new life. For their memory we give thanks, and for our fellowship with them now in your presence. Bring us at the last where they are, to those things which our lips cannot utter but which our hearts long for, in the glory of our Kingdom. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, and as he taught us we also pray saying; Our Father...Amen.
