The Cove Guest Home Foundation was formed in 1996, sparked by a $1,000,000 capital campaign for new equipment and seed money for an Assisted Living complex. The Foundation's mandate is to raise funds for new Cove projects, equipment and programs for seniors. The foundation does not provide funding for the day-to-day operations of the Cove.
Since the beginning, the Cove Foundation has established a number of exciting ways to assist the building fund.
Along with the capital campaign, there is the Annual Appeal and special events such as the Cove Dream Home Lottery and the Festival of Lights.

Mr. Rudderham hands over a $10,000.00 donation to Selma Doucet and Wayne Weatherbee for the Cove Guest Home Foundation's Moving Forward Campaign to help with the reconstruction of the historic building that once was St. Mark's Church and is now on the Williston House land to be renamed St. Mark's Chapel for non-denominational ceremonies.
Also, we have recently included a Gift Planning Program. Some examples of planned gifts are:
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Norman MacEwan
In the years ahead, philanthropy will continue to play an indispensable role in helping to maintain the quality of our resident care services and programs. The financial climate for the Cove Guest Home has never been more challenging, and the need for private support never greater than it is today.
The Directors of the Cove Guest Home Foundation welcome the opportunity to keep our friends in the community informed about how planned charitable giving can benefit our long term care facility - today and for years to come.
Gifts received by the Foundation are used to:
• fund the purchase of new and essential equipment • preserve core resident programs • assure necessary funds for future development
Your continued support will enable the Cove Guest Home to achieve its mission of providing high quality long term care to the citizens of Cape Breton.
